Acupuncture
Acupuncture is among the oldest healing practices in the world. In
China it can be traced back at least 2,500 years. The
system of acupuncture is based on the concept that disruptions in the
circulation of the body’s vital energy "Qi", can cause
pain, illness, and emotional disorders. Acupuncture helps
increase healing time in conjunction with other therapies.
Benefits of Acupuncture Therapy
-
Acupuncture needles are hair-fine, flexible and solid. They
contain no drugs or other substances. The needles are
sterile and only used once.
-
Acupuncture
therapy is relaxing, comfortable and mood elevating.
Most patients experience little or no discomfort when the
acupuncture
needles are inserted. Many patients experience a feeling of
profound well-being as a result of the acupuncture treatments.
-
Besides relieving pain and anxiety, acupuncture
treatments can improve
immune function, thereby increasing resistance to infectious
illness and calming allergic conditions.
-
Acupuncture
therapy focuses on a holistic, energy-based approach to
improving health, rather than a disease-oriented diagnostic
and treatment model.
Acupuncturist
Jody Neubert, L.Ac., earned her
bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri
and her Master’s in Acupuncture and Oriental
Medicine in 1996 from the Oregon College of Oriental
Medicine. Jody's 16 years of acupuncture experience
includes 10 years with the Kaiser Permanente hospice
program. She specializes in treating acupuncture patients with pain,
anxiety, or depression. Her acupuncture practice includes treating
chronic conditions including neuropathy, fibromyalgia, MS
and complications of stroke.
Jody’s focus is on caring for the whole person in a way that
is comfortable and effective. She does not subscribe to the
axiom “no pain, no gain”, but instead, prefers to use gentle,
effective acupuncture methods, based largely on Japanese needling
techniques that are designed to minimize any potential
discomfort.
